Senior QA Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Engineer to lead our quality assurance efforts. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 8 years of experience in both manual and automated testing, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products. Experience in Healthcare IT projects is a valuable asset, as you will be involved in ensuring the quality of applications critical to patient care and data security.

Key Skills

  • Automation Expertise: Extensive experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Appium) and frameworks, with the ability to write and maintain complex test scripts.
  • Manual Testing Proficiency: Strong background in manual testing techniques, including exploratory testing and test case design.
  • Performance Testing: Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner, with experience in analyzing performance metrics.
  • Defect Tracking and Management: Expertise in defect tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar, with a focus on effective defect triaging and reporting.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems, identify potential issues, and develop effective testing strategies.
  • Communication and Leadership: Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor QA teams, and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies, with the ability to apply them effectively in various project contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Test Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for complex projects, ensuring coverage of all functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Automation Leadership: Lead the automation testing efforts by designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts. Mentor junior team members in automation practices.
  • Manual and Exploratory Testing: Perform manual and exploratory testing on new and existing features, identifying defects and areas of improvement.
  • Defect Management and Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on defects and testing progress using industry-standard tools. Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Performance and Load Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to ensure the scalability and reliability of the software under various conditions.
  • Compliance and Security Testing: Ensure that the software complies with industry regulations, including data security and privacy standards, especially in healthcare-related projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, product management, and operations teams to ensure alignment between testing activities and project goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the QA team, including process optimization, tool selection, and best practice adoption.
